Laura Rose Donegan was in a heap of trouble. The first heat of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships 3000-meter steeplechase semifinals had not yet hit the halfway mark and she was down, perhaps even out, of the event on Thursday night at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
